The image to the right shows racist graffiti with the words "wagon burner", a derogatory term for Indigenous Peoples. According to Statistics Canada, their latest report shows that Thunder Bay had the highest rate of reported hate crimes and accounted for a third of all hate crimes against Indigenous people. The Thunder Bay Police Service (headquarters pictured on the right), have been condemned for systemic racism against Indigenous people by the Office of the Independent Police Review Director. See the report here.
